Filmed over the course of six years, NEVER TO CRY intimately portrays the lives of two Angolan children brought to Barcelona for rehabilitation from major leg injuries. In Spain, Cassinda and Romeo discover the power of solidarity through the friendships they develop with the Castellers of Barcelona (Castellers train and compete in the construction of human towers). Fiercely courageous, Cassinda and Romeo have survived the violent and impoverished conditions that affect more than 70 percent of children in Angola. Upon their return, they are forced to reconcile the disparate worlds of Angola and Spain. Despite these challenges, elements of hope and optimism resonate.
